Manor House Teschendorf near Rostock

Teschendorf, about 13 km east of Rostock, can be accessed via a historic cobblestone street. Starting in 1375, the estate was owned by the von Preen family who held it for more than 400 years.

(The calendar can still be ordered.)

From the beginning of the 19th century, its owners changed frequently. The manor house was built in 1830 and then redesigned it to its present form around 1900. The one-storey, 11-axle, Neo-Baroque plastered building is probably not the largest of its times but is all the more richly decorated. The three-axle central risalit that rises over two storeys is bound by Corinthian colossal columns; above it a high gable with a decorative vase. The design is duplicated on the two dwarf-houses, which are decorated with portrait medallions.

The manor house and the former farmhouses have been renovated extensively.
