Book "Manor houses and castles in Western Pomerania"
In Volume 1, we present 45 estates with short texts and 224 historical and current photographs on 155 pages.
Wüstenhagen Manor House
Wüstenhagen is first documented in 1391. The first known owners, the knights von Vogelsang, mortgaged it at the beginning of the 16th century but redeemed it later and owned the estate until late in the 17th century.
The last owner of the estate was Karl Zarnekow in 1939, followed by his son Hans. In the 1960s the house was greatly altered through remodeling.
After reunification the manor house was owned for many years by the Richtenberg Housing Corporation until it was sold to a private party in 2007.
A change in ownership occurred in 2020, since when the house is being reconstructed to historic standards. For example, the roof framework is being newly rebuilt and the pediments bricked up.
