Manor House Lüssow near Güstrow

According to the "Großherzoglich Mecklenburg-Schwerinsches offizielles Wochenblatt 1847" (Official Mecklenburg-Schwerin Grand Ducal Weekly Announcements of 1847) of the 18th, October 1847 the estates Lüssow, Augustenruh, and Alt Gaarz owned by Gustav Stein are to be divided amongst the brothers Stein.

The manor house was probably built at the end of the 18th century. It underwent several structural changes in the 19th century: Under Adolf August Karl Heinrich Schubart, the north-west façade was given a solid yellow brick façade. The north-west façade received a wooden structure veranda with amber-coloured glass. An extension with a base made of granite stones and yellow brick was also added to the south-east façade. Contemporary cement tiles were also laid in the lower hallway, in the manor kitchen and in the bathroom on the first floor.

In the course of the land reform the Kühl family was expropriated.

During the GDR era the property was used for various purposes. Lastly the manor house was owned by the municipality and served for residential purposes, amongst others also for employees of the local LPG, the agricultural co-operative. The park underwent massive changes. Each party residing in the house was given its own plot and its own garden shed.

In 1994 the manor house came into possession of the grandson of the last owner of the estate. He died in 2021 and the community of heirs then sold the house to a new owner in the summer of 2022. Currently (2025) the building is being remodelled and renovated.

Structure of ownership:

1795: August Carl von Driberg

1802: Carl Christian Ludwig von Bülow

1828: Joachim Bernhard Peltz

1834-1860: Christian Conrad Gustav Stein

1866-1899: Adolf August Karl Heinrich Schubart

1902: Bankruptcy creditor of the late A.A.K.H. Schubart

1913: Brothers Karl und Hans Kühl

The estate remained in the ownership of Mr Kühl until the end of 1945.
