Park Pansevitz
The origins of the extensive 45-hectare park date back to the beginning of the 17th century. At this time, Hans Krassow had the manor house and courtyard rebuilt. The von Krassow family had resided in Pansevitz since the 14th century.

Around 1800 the baroque-style Kavaliershaus was built. (A Kavaliershaus is a house in the castle grounds - a separate building for staff and guests.) The avenues of lime trees, some of which are still extant, also date from this period.
When Luise von Krassow married Edzard Count zu Innhausen und Knyphausen in 1861, the estate fell to his family. In the 19th century, the grounds were redesigned in the style of a landscape park. The count's family was expropriated in 1945.
During the GDR era, the buildings fell into disrepair and the park became overgrown.
After many decades of neglect, the park was saved from decay as part of an EXPO 2000 project. Thanks to a donation from Huberta Countess zu Innhausen und Knyphausen, the Insula Rugia e.V. association was able to purchase the castle park in 2000. The foundation is linked to the permanent maintenance of the park.
A cemetery forest opened in the park in 2006. In 2007, the Pansevitz Castle Park Foundation took over the park. In 2009, the tower was secured and the viewing staircase was built. In 2012, the gatehouse was secured and the outer cubature of the manor house was bricked up.
Nowadays the park invites for a stroll at any time of year.
