Farm House Auerose

Auerose, south of Anklam, once was a fiefdom of the family von Schwerin. At the beginning of the 18th century the property was bought by the family von Borcken.

Franz Alexander Friedrich Wilhelm von Borcken-Auerose has built the house approx. 1848 / 1849 as a neo-gothic plaster-walled building on a high cellar, flat roof, crenellated rims and turrets. 1902 it was renovated in the neo-baroque style, at the north-east side a high tower with an arched dome was added. Its weather vane displays the renovation date. Inside the Farm House there is a two-storey high hall with parquet floor, walls panelled in wood, fireplace and other details from the building period. After the on Borcken family was expropriated in 1945, several families inhabited the house. 1992 the house was sold, the restoration began but came to an halt due to lack of financial resources. Since then the building further dilapidates.

Next to the village church there is the stately tomb of the von Borcken family, built in 1898.
