Manor House Nisbill
Not far from Warin, on the northern shore of Lake Bibow, the small village of Nisbill is witness to the quiet demise of a listed manor house.
After almost 20 years of standing empty, the last tenants moved out of the manor house after 1990, a lack of maintenance, wind and weather and, last but not least, vandalism left only a ruin. The manor house, a half-timbered building with seven axles and a half hipped roof, was built at the beginning of the 18th century. Remodelling work carried out at the end of the 19th century included the entrance porch with the upper exit. Nowadays the Baroque room structures can still be found inside the manor house. In 1896, the former hereditary lease estate of the Warin demesne administration had an area of 374 hectares; the tenant at that time was a Mr. Havemann. In 1924, Wladimir Schmitz managed the estate, followed by Kurt Girardet. After WWII the manor house was used for residential purposes.
We introduce this place in the book "Gutshäuser und Schlösser in Mecklenburg", Volume 3.
