Castle Grounds in Kaarz

In to the building period of the manor house between 1872 and 1874 also falls the creation of the seven hectare park by the garden architect C. Ansorge.

Besides some more than 500 years old oak trees one will find exotic sequoia trees, Douglas firs, and cypresses. On a walk through the park other trees, some of them environmentally protected, are marked with signs. While walking you will pass a small idyllic pond and an ancient orchard, which again is a conservation area. In the front part of the park the Bülow'sche Kapelle is situated (chapel of the Bülow family), at the rear the impressive mausoleum.
