Loickenzin
The village of Loickenzin belonged to the monastery of Verchen until 1575. Loickenzin was entirely a farming village. In 1865 there were five farms, in addition to small holding farmers, tied farmers tenants, the miller, and other residents. In 1928 there were still four farms with landholdings of between 54 and 121 hectares.
The house depicted is therefore not a manor house in the classical sense, but the house of a rich large scale farmer.
It was probably built at the beginning of the 20th century.
Loickenzin Church is a half-timbered church that was newly built after the Thirty Years' War. The wooden belfry tower (around 1700) contains two bells, one of which was cast in 1573.
