Bansow Manor House (Manor, Palace)
Bansow estate was one of the many estates in Mecklenburg that passed from hand to hand from the end of the 17th century. From 1780 until 1796 it was owned by General Johann Ludwig Reichsgraf (Imperial Count) von Wallmoden-Gimborn, followed by Chamberlain Otto Conrad von Hahn until 1801, Mr. Kues until 1802, the von Maibom brothers until 1836, Friedrich Carls until 1839, the Mohrmann family until 1884, Peter Meyer until 1896, and Paul Löser until 1909.
In 1909 the Princesses of Sachsen-Altenburg and Duchesses of Saxony Olga Elisabeth (married name Countess Pückler) und Maria (married name Princess Heinrich XXXV) acquired the estate. Around 1930 part of the estate was finally divided. Some of the new farmers received new half-timbered houses as well as land. The remainder of the estate was farmed by Walter Graf (Count)Schalsberg.
The manor house is a two-story stuccoed brick building in Neogothic style, erected in the 19th century. In 1880 a water tower was added, which remained in use until 1975.
After 1945 the house was used for accommodation.
Since 1996 it is privately owned and has been renovated.
