Manor House Braunsberg
The manor house was probably built at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1803 it was in possession of Friedrich von Lepel.
According to old available records from various sources, the Braunsberg estate belonged to one Heinrich Handt in the middle of the 19th century. He publicly auctioned the estate to Wilhelm Bosselmann in November 1876. Wilhelm Bosselmann bequeathed it to his son Johannes, who leased it to his son Wilhelm in 1911. In 1919 Wilhelm Bosselmann finally purchased the estate. On the 2nd of May 1945 he was shot dead in Braunsberg.
In the course of the land reform, the estate, the land area, the agricultural equipment as well as the residential and farm buildings were shared out. In the former GDR, the manor house accommodated the co-op shop and flats; however, nothing was done against the slow decay.
After the political change in 1989/90 the former manor house was sold by the municipality of Zehna. The new owners renovated the building and have been renting out holiday rooms in the house ever since.
