Vorheide Manor House
The property was farmed from Rehberg as a domain. In 1778 a subsidiary estate was laid out there. As a result of inheritance disputes after the death of the Rehberg lessee, Vorheide became an independent domain in 1853.
The manor house was built thereafter. Franz Boldt, the first independent lessee, erected the massive single-story brick building with its 11 axes and gabled roof. The attic area was later finished off. The entrance was protected by a half-timbered veranda. Franz Boldt’s successor as lessee was August Schulz, who farmed the estate for more than four decades. His son Ludolf was the last lessee. After the war the manor house was used as accommodation; today it stands empty and decaying.
