Manor House Pleetz

The Pleetz manor house burned down in June 2015. It was a one-storey half-timbered building with nine axles under a mansard roof which had been built around 1800.

An estate building which was still extant in the mid-20s of the 20th century, was also a one-storey half-timbered house below a mansard roof, it dated from the beginning of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, a two-storey half-timbered annexe with four axles was added to the manor house probably as a replacement of the estate building or to enlarge the residential space.

The estate was owned by the von Bertikow family. After the extinction of the Mecklenburg branch of the family, the property was feoffed to Heinrich Hahn of Kuchelmiß in 1469.

After the political change in Germany the Pleetz manor house was purchased by Ortwin Hasenkamp. Before the manor house burned down, it stood empty for many years and showed clear signs of structural decay.
